Indiana Forest Industry Council
The Indiana Forest Industry Council was formed with a clear purpose - to provide a working forest for the next generation and all future generations.
In 2010, IFIC merged with IHLA, but still retains its identity as IFIC, now serving as the forestry council of IHLA.The Indiana Forest Industry Council Mission
To encourage and promote the exchange of ideas and informationamong individuals, partnerships, corporations and others doing business in the state of Indiana who are engaged in timber buying or the primary or secondary wood-using industries.
To facilitate the resolution of problems associated with the growing and harvesting of Indiana's forest resources.
To educate those engaged in the forest industry.

Training seminars, including professional timber cutter, skidder, and Best Management Practices training. These training programs, taught by a certified Game of Logging instructor and by professional staff with the Department of Natural Resources, seperate the professional loggers from the pack and provide savings on workmen's compensation premiums.

Listing in the Indiana Forestry & Woodland Owner's Association Professional Logger Directory after completion of Phase II Professional Timber Cutter Training.
Reciprocal agreement with Kentucky and their Master Logger program.

Key sponsor and supporter of the Log A Load for Kids program benefiting Riley Hospital for Children.
In addition, IFIC has implemented a comprehensive training program, compliant with the requirements of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) for wood producers that supply at least 50 million board feet per year, to have at least one person trained as a Qualified Logging Professional on every site where harvesting is occurring. This program was implemented on January 1, 2003.
