In addition, IFIC is developing and implementing a comprehensive training program, compliant with the requirements of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) for wood producers that supply at least 50 million board feet per year, to have at least one person trained as a Qualified Logging Professional on every site where harvesting is occurring. This program was implemented on January 1, 2003.
The Importance of Becoming an IFIC Member
The following was submitted by an IFIC member. Please read, and join today!
"An IFIC member is a person who understands the needs of the forest and forest products industry. A person who takes the time to learn, practice and educate others in good forestry. A person who doesn't hope the timber stand will be in better condition when they return but knows it will be. A person when their work is finished, passes their knowledge and resources on to those who follow. They have a legacy to fulfill. That legacy is to provide a working forest for the next generation and all future generations."
