‘Stacker Dudes’ from Automated Industrial Technologies Rebrand Machine Division to
Max Board Feet (MAX)
Name Better Represents the Substantive Increase in Efficiency Gained
using their High-Speed Wood Processing Equipment

May 1, 2024, Forest Virginia

Automated Industrial Technologies® (AIT), a recognized leader in process engineering and manufacturing automation, has renamed its wood processing machinery division. The new division name, Max Board Feet TM, (www.MaxBoardFeet.com) aptly describes their automated wood processing equipment which includes: high-speed saws, stackers, notchers, conveying systems, and a variety of custom machines. MAX offers expert engineering services to design and build systems and production lines around customers’ unique requirements. They specialize in processing pallet cut stock and boards. Max Board Feet designs and produces its equipment in Forest, Virginia and sells to customers worldwide in the softwood and hardwood industries.

“Customers often refer to us as the ‘Stacker Dudes’,” said Gary Sill, founder and CEO of AIT. “But we are more than that. The name Max Board Feet really spells out what our equipment does for our customers: it maximizes production in terms of board feet.”

MAX offers a free ROI Calculator Worksheet to demonstrate the payback on their machinery. “The new division name and brand is meant to help our customers recognize that MAX’s machines are worthy of the investment.” continues Sill.

Engineering Expertise behind the Wood Processing Solutions

Max Board Feet (MAX) core products include stackers, saws, notchers, chamfering machines, singulators, and conveyors, all robustly engineered to provide reliable performance, optimize throughput, and minimize manual labor.

  • AIT designed the flagship M2L Board Stacker over 25 years ago
  • over 600 board stackers and high-speed saws are in service today
  • AIT holds a variety of patents on machine designs and automation processes, including their Board Deduster, and the ABSAMS® (Advanced Board Singulation and Metering System).

Fulfilling Brand Promise and Value

Using the QR code on MAX’s machines, operators and plant managers can connect with the MAX service department directly. The company provides parts for MAX and AIT equipment as well as on-site and remote support for MAX, AIT, and other manufacturers’ equipment.

“Industrial automation improves work conditions, dramatically increases output, and reduces employee turnover.” said Sill. “That’s what we do.”

Automated Industrial Technologies (www.autoindtech.com), was founded in 1991 in central Virginia as an engineering firm and soon added a machine shop and in-house fabrication services.
